How to stop paying 411 charges on your cell phone

I’ve been using this for a couple of years now and thought most people knew about it, but I still run into many who don’t, so I thought I’d mention it here.

You don’t need to pay 411 charges on your cell phone. Instead of calling 411, text message Google and they’ll send you back the phone number and address of your listing.

For instance, send a text message to 466453 (Google on your phone keypad) and say “In and Out Burger, San Jose” and it’ll send you all the locations and phone numbers on your phone.

A great aspect of this is if your call drops when you call (which seems to be Murphy’s Law for me and 411 calls), you don’t have to recall the number or call back 411. It’s on your phone already, so you just redial.
